This year was rough because we thought we were getting AJ Green from UNI, who’s dad is an assistant on our staff now. The final day to withdraw from the draft he was in Ames picking out a place to live and the Bucks told him if he goes undrafted they will sign him to a two way deal. He stayed in and Bucks signed him. Then our starting PG got hurt before the season started and missed the entire year.
Definitely need some guards/scoring for next year.
Whether fair or not, for THIS team I think the following is the best scenario.
1. Beat Tuck Fexas for coach Self.
2. Houston is given the overall and takes the Midwest.
3. Destroy everyone in Des Moines.
4. Use the "disrespect" as additional fuel to focus the team. No Kansas City means no distractions. No pressure of being a favorite at "home" in a venue seldom used by the team. Instead, "us vs. the world" has worked well on the road for Self over the years. I think it can work again.
5. Got to final four. Repeat as national champion. [Reply]
