Oh no doubt. Good teams are gonna take advantage of KU having a hole in the lineup in March. Once they run into a team with more athletes it’s over. Just like every other year sans the COVID year since 2016. Not looking good.

Every year since 2016?

2016 was a 1 seed that blew a late 10 point lead to eventual champion Nova in the Elite 8. Absolutely could’ve been a championship team.

2017 was a 1 seed that blew everyone out in the tourney until meeting just a bad matchup Oregon team in the Elite 8. Absolutely could’ve won the title otherwise.

2018 was a Final Four team.

We really just have 2 bad seasons in that timeframe. One of those years fell apart after we lost Doke to injury. That team probably wins the conference otherwise.

So really just last year was the bad year. And that was a weird year across the board.

they were calling the game more physical than any game I’ve seen this year. We missed FT’s down the stretch. Play better you don’t have to worry about FT’s.

I can understand people freaking out after the Kentucky game, but tonight should be encouraging, if anything. They pissed away a good opportunity, but they played great for most of the night. How many teams can say they shot 58% vs a top 10 defense in a hostile road environment?

Missed FTs and throwing the ball off your teammate's ass are issues that can be cleaned up.

I feel better about this team's March potential than at any point since the first game against Mich St.

Agreed, they played a very good game. Completely outplayed a top 15-20 team on the road when the refs were treating it like a NFL playoff game. The last two for them have been much more encouraging than most of the games in January when this team looked like a bit of a mess.

2017 is as haunting as any year aside from 2010. Doke getting hurt and not making at least a F4 with Jackson, Mason, and Graham.

Buehler mix dropped this one.
Sure there is. That was pure luck. We don't shoot FTs much better than 15-23, ever. What you want them to do go 22 for 23?

I still don't like the fact our scoring disappears in stretches! Last nights game was no exception, I know of a couple 3-4 minute droughts. Just can't have that, a few times we were up and never got the chance to put them away!

Except that when you say "play better" you really should say adapt to the game conditions. Playing well has nothing to do with what we saw last night.

Nope. Just 19 of 23.

I still have nightmares about Jordan Bell just abusing Landen Lucas inside. Would’ve been great to have a bully like Doke inside who could’ve given Bell trouble.

That backcourt of Mason, Graham, Jackson, Svi, and Vick was easily a top 3 group from Self’s time at Kansas.

Obviously, 2008 is up there too: Robinson, Chalmers, Rush, Collins, and Stewart

Probably 2016 too: Mason, Graham, Selden, Svi, Greene, and Vick

Since 2010 was mentioned, I think these are probably the best front courts in Self’s time at Kansas:

1. 2010: Aldrich, Marcus, Markieff, Thomas Robinson, Jeff Withey
2. 2008: Arthur, Jackson, Kaun, Aldrich
3. 2007: Wright, Arthur, Jackson, Kaun

That was just a frustrating loss. Felt like the Texas tech double ot game where they are just trying to give it away. They just couldn't seal the deal like they did against tech.

The good news is that our schedule isn’t too bad from here. @Baylor is the only real tough looking game.

We could absolutely win 7 of the next 8.

I think we blow Texas out on Senior Night.

The 2008 line can't be beat. Depth, polish with a young assassin to come and harrass the NPOY.

Them with our guards, no wonder we won the NC. What a great team.
