Correct. But I’d imagine people want to trade him cause he’s 28, has had a couple years of success as a reliever and is unlikely to continue as such for several years more as relievers are generally (outside of the few elite ones) unreliable year to year.

That said, it’s not like he’s gonna bring some prospect haul. At best, maybe a couple lottery tickets. I guess you could maybe package him in a larger trade to sweeten the pot. Someone wanting to trade for Merrifield, etc.

I’m not necessarily opposed to the Royals dealing Barlow, I just don’t know that there’s a lot of trade value there versus keeping a cheap effective relief guy.

The Santana thing I don’t get, if there is in fact some real demand for him. Considering the year Pratto is having, you may need that spot open for next year. And it’s not like you don’t have guys that you couldn’t rotate over there. And, Santana, while competent, is not elite defensively by any means.

I don’t get the Santana thing if someone is really wanting to deal for him.
