TL;DR, his concern was at a 2, and now it's a 4 (out of 10). Still probably not a huge deal, but there are some concerning possibilities. Overall, though, he thinks it all gets pled down to misdemeanors, he misses a couple of games, and he writes some massive checks to those he injured.

Willie Gay suspension was pretty harsh as well when you look at other cases around the league. Paralyze an innocent person? No problem, 1 game suspension as a New York Jets player. Trash a vacuum cleaner? 4 game suspension as a Chiefs player. It seems the Chiefs are held to a higher standard than other teams. Just my two cents. [Reply]

If Rashee misses that much time I think you’ll see a big opportunity for Wiley. They need that bigger body YAC guy in the middle of the field and I think he’s perfect for that.

Won't work. Suspicions will be raised if Skyy Moore suddenly learns how to run routes, get open and catch the football. [Reply]
One thing about getting older is I have seen this kind of stuff before and the results are always different for what punishment is given. I shrug it off and wait for whatever happens. Nothing I can do about it. [Reply]
I guess we should also be pulling for Toney to put it all together in a contract year and help fill the void while Rice is out, too.
I can definitely see Godell making an example of Rice leaving the scene in the way he did in this situation. 8 games seems harsh af (based on precedent of accidents of this nature, but not leaving the scene) but I’m not sure there is an existing precedent for leaving the scene.
