Nzoner's Game Room>Orlando Brown Projected Contract 6 year $145 mil
dlphg9 08:17 PM 03-28-2022
So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.

That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL

How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?

I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave.

At this point, there’s really no realistic way he can justify the money he wants. He wants to be the highest paid tackle in the league and he will never be worth that.

Might be more fair to say that he wanted a contract that did not have a bullshit inflated number in the last year to exaggerate AAV.

He’s overpaid right now. He wants more than that and it’s $16M guaranteed.

I think that ship has already sailed. They're closing in in 1/4 of the season being over. If he does get better (which he did last year) it won't be a significant enough improvement to justify top 5 money IMO.

Brown is crap. He was crap last year and is worse this year.

Seems that he may be playing with an injury. Easy to talk shit about a guy playing hurt.

Did not see much criticism of the guy after week 1 and week 2.

Anybody that does not realize that game is different on the road on an unfamiliar surface does not know shit about tackle football as played in the National Football League.

Colts have some good pass rushers that likely do better in home games and I would not put cheating with PA system noise and other dark arts past that Colts organization, especially coming into 1st home game with 0-1-1 record.

Already acknowledged he might be hurt. If he’s hurt and that is the only issue, then sit him until he’s healthier. He might end up getting hurt even more or worse, he might get Mahomes hurt.

Whether he's injured or not, Orlando Brown is one of the most overrated players in Chiefs history. Mahomes in his first year starting threw for 5000+ yards and 50 TDs. He won't sniff that this year, mainly because Brown and Wylie are replacement level players.

Here’s Nate Taylor saying Brown Jr is injured.

#KCSNUpdate + @DKSportsbook

After Sunday’s performance, @ByNateTaylor says things may be worse than anticipated for one position group in particular.

:-)

You don't know shit about shit. OBJ is not a good LT hurt or not. And if he's hurt, he needs to sit.

This

It doesn't do a team any favors to tough it out. Thats the shit baker tried to do in Cleveland his last season, it just doesn't work. It sucks if he is hurt after betting on himself, huge bummer.

Veach dodging that multi year contract

Not sure I would go that far. At the time of the trade we were up against it with no real options.

Why is he playing then?
Trey Smith & him should be on the bench.
