It was historically bad. This year the league decided it was time to fuck the 49ers instead. Guess they're growing tired of them and want to see somebody else step up on the NFC.

And it's all in the context of making a point that the schedule isn't going to define who the good and bad teams are (a lame point, of course, given that it can shave around the edges in a meaningful way). Yeah, and the biggest thing that stands out to me is the "too bad" attitude. Basically states that the Chiefs have come to expect getting screwed because they are such a marketing force, so they won't complain too much. [Reply]
- Not everything that's ever done is done with bad intentions.
- Warren Sharp's graph is just as meaningless as last year, because all it says is a few teams have a couple extra games where they play a team coming off a bye or the other way around, and everyone else is pretty much equal. The league doesn't hate the 49ers or love the Ravens, life isn't fair sometimes and it's not even that big of a gap if you think about it for more than 5 seconds.
- Scheduling anomalies exist for many basic, obvious reasons beyond the NFL is just a bunch of evil fuckers who spend their time on every bad intention you can make up in hindsight... and one of those is the Chiefs are in really high demand across all platforms for all holidays, prime time slots, etc. [Reply]
