Defense has been trash against the run

Losing Talib...and then Cravens is going to hurt. They couldn't cover TEs last year...which is not a good thing with Kelce in your division.

It happened to Smith during KC's mid-season lull. Teams starting running a cover 2...and for what ever reason, Smith had trouble adapting. He look like garbage for over a month.
There's always that ... "the tape is out there, he'll be figured out".

Oh noes! Let me ask a question... would you prefer a QB like Blake Bortles over Keenum? Don't answer as a KC fan hating Denver, but if you had to pick - which would you take to lead your team?

Blake has put up pretty consistent numbers the last few years - tape is out there. Yes, the Jags have had issues, but Blake's numbers have been pretty good based upon the talent around him.

Am I trying to draw some comparison between the two teams? No, just looking at this from the "it's on tape" narrative. I think Keenum and Bortles are in that pool of QBs that are kinda "meh", but they can still perform.

So, yeah - he's not an uknown. Keenum isn't perfect... does that mean he can't produce and the offense can't put them in a position to win with a strong performance by the defense?

Denver has had issues with TEs for as long as I can remember... Kelce will continue to punish them.

Last year, they gave up 100+ yards 5 times (Giants, Eagles, Raiders, Dolphins and Chiefs). What concerned me more last year was they bent and broke on key 3rd downs more often than I cared to see, extending drives.

We will soon see what 2018 holds.

I wouldn't want either...Vikings and Jags are similar. They win because of their defense. Zimmer saw enough to dump Keesum...and pay an additional $12 million per to fix it. As much as Donko fans want to hope for the best...the Vikings saw him everyday and decided he wasn't good enough. They could have kept him and saved a shit-ton of money...to me, that's telling.

He's better than Semen/Lynch...that's why I predicted an 8-8 finish. As much as Donko fans want to pretend...their defense isn't elite anymore. They were like 22nd in points allowed..

They dumped him for the new shiney toy on the free-agent market. Had Cousins not been available, what do you think they do? Fans of every team hate/love whichever QB is behind center - outside your 'best of the best' guys. We all read into it whatever we want to read into it.

Hell, you can probably find Redskins' fans that love having Alex and not Cousins.

I think they would have gone after Smith...which would have complimented their defense.

Keesums numbers arent great...and he laid some serious eggs against his division. He didn't have to play Rodgers twice and had a rookie QB in Chicago. He only broke 200 yards in like one of those 4 games. It was a perfect storm for him...he wouldn't have beaten Rodgers throwing under 200 yards/1TD.

If Denver is one of the worst teams, we will know it's time to fire VJ. That's not a bottom of the league roster. Not saying it's a Superbowl roster, but it's middle of pack at worst.

Sure, but they were pounding the ball on the ground with great success... I think it's 100+ yards per game 13 times. 125+ in 8 of those, I believe.

It's a different scene right now in Denver, no doubt ... no idea if that OL and those RBs can put up a consistent ground attack. So, we'll see. Suggesting his yardage was so poor just because it was him, may not be framed accurately.

It is framed accurately...Keesum won 4 games against Hundley/Trubisky. He threw for 139 yards against GB late in the season...You really think that beats a Rodgers led Packer team? He threw for 179/189 against the Bears..

It all depends. A QB throwing for 189 yards in a strong rushing game can be a beautiful thing.

I dunno... does Rodgers have a perfect record? Have other marginal QBs defeated a Rodgers' led team with similar output? I get what you're saying...

It was 10 degrees outside when the dome team shut out Hundley and crew. Maybe the weather was a factor. Who knows? Hundley and the Packers put up 23+ points in the 4 prior games to laying that egg at home vs MIN.

His 4 worst games were against those two divisional teams...

Late in the season vs Rams, @ DET, @ ATL, @ CAR and vs CIN... pretty solid from weeks 9-13. But, focus on the Packers and Bears, I guess. They were 4-1 during that late stretch as he averaged 261 passing yards with 9 TDs and 2 INTs...

I think I'm fine with that average ... and if he did that over 16 games, you're looking at 4k yards, 28 TDs and 7 INTs - hell, make it 14 INTs and I believe they have success in 2018.

Well...if you have the #1 ranked defense against a back up QB, you can get away with it, I guess?

Great defense and a solid ground game. It remains to be seen what Denver's defense does in 2018 - they won't suck. Question is the ground game.
