I'm not saying he has an issue with ball security, just that as long as he does not fumble and stays healthy, he will be able to produce in this offense.
As a stark comparison, I worry about whether or not guys like CEH and Darrel Williams can produce unless there are massive holes and running lanes.
Looking at the numbers, McKinnon's only had 567 career careers in 6 seasons. I'm not going to do a deep dive into the game logs, but I'm not sure I ever remember the guy being a bell cow/feature back. [Reply]

He split time with asiata one year (he was the 1A to asiata 1B) and the next split with latavius Murray in Minnesota (he was the 1B). Both those years he had 200 touches. Not a full workhorse but a strong two team committee guy. [Reply]

smart vision running with the ability to do so very quickly.:-) [Reply]
At his combine he ran 4.41, 40-yard dash, 32 reps on bench press and over 40" on his vertical.
He was drafted in the 3rd round by the Minnesota Vikings.
2014 Minnesota Vikings, RB 11 games, 113 attempts, 538 yards, 27 catches, 135 yards, 0 TDs. Adrian Peterson was on that roster but only played 1 game. Matt Asiata was the main back.
2015 Minnesota Vikings, RB 16 games, 52 attempts. 271 yards, 2 TDs, 21 catches, 173 yards. Adrian Peterson was the main back.
2016 Minnesota Vikings, RB 15 games, 159 attempts, 539 yards, 2 TDs, 43 catches, 255 yards, and 2 TDs
2017 Minnesota Vikings, RB 16 games, 150 attempts, 570 yards, 3 TDs, 51 catches, 421 yards, and 2 TDs. Split time with Latavius Murray.
2018 San Francisco 49ers - injured ACL right knee
2019 San Francisco 49ers - injured
2020 San Francisco 49ers, 16 games, 81 attempts, 319 yards, 5 TDs, 33 catches. 253 yards, 1 TD
His problem has been two years of a major knee injury. ACL and LCL
Hopefully Kansas City has figured out when to use him for the playoffs, so he is ready to go. [Reply]
I wonder if we unveil a package with Mecole in the backfield receiving some of these… might not be believable enough to sell him being a pass blocker though, so it may not work. But that acceleration with blockers in front would be game changing. [Reply]

How much mileage would you say McKinnon has left? [Reply]

I'm fine with signing him to another year, but dude is 29 with injury issues. He's made his money, so a team like KC is the perfect place for him IMO. [Reply]
