Andruw Jones was an up and coming prospect that I remember. That he now has a son in the same spot is sobering. Kind of like Mondesi.
He's been retired for 9 years but he's still only 44 years old. Seems crazy but he got called up in 1996 at 19 years old and never looked back. [Reply]
@Feinsand: The Dodgers have joined the Giants as a contender with interest in Royals LHP Danny Duffy (currently on the IL with a left flexor strain), per source. Duffy has often spoken about wanting to stay in KC, but the CA native could waive his 10-5 no-trade rights for a West Coast team.
I don't know why so many people both here and elsewhere are obsessed with draft status. Good players fall in every draft anyway, and the single most important thing for this team is for the young pitchers like Bubic and Lynch to start throwing well. If that leads to wins, that's a great thing.
If that isn't going to happen to coincide with Witt and Pratto and company being on the team next year, then you might as well blow the whole thing up and trade Witt, Singer, and the rest of them and start over and start planning for 2026. [Reply]

Actually it gives ownership the false hope that Moore/Methy/Eldred should keep their jobs. [Reply]

It's a really tough call. Depends on how good his second half is, and how cheap the deal is.
This is the Lynch the Royals thought they were bringing up. Deep arsenal, good velocity and ride on his fastball. Two useful secondaries and the ability to get swing and miss on his slider.

I think 2/3 of them are basically secure, anyway. Unless the team were to completely crater again and Matheny were to get publicly blasted, [Reply]

I realize that. That's why I said that. The org brought him back up despite his horrible AAA numbers. Hes been god awful this year so good to see. Maybe it was a simple adjustment. Crossing my fingers but Ive never seen a pitcher quite get tagged like he did earlier in the year. Maybe he really was tipping pitches. [Reply]
