Yabu is wearing a Gorilla themed helmet (I hope we get to see him wear the mask too) and has a dragon embossed bronze breast plate. looks amazing

its very stylized and individualistic but maintains accuracy to the time period

Watched E1 last night; with my mom and she like it a lot. My dad taught her some Japanese when they were in med school, so she kept explaining what they were saying. Didn't want to burst her bubble and tell her I could read the subtitles, lol.

And yeah they switch some things around and dropped a few things. You're learning stuff that is revealed later but overall this is excellent. Probably the most disappointing thing is, and you're starting to see change, but the Anjin isn't so hostile.
