Staumont is dumb for toying with him. All Kelenic does is try to draw walks because he hits for shit

He's been so bad you probably light up the zone with 100 down the middle and he'd take the first 2.

Real nice win. This Mariners team is right in the wild card race and probably expected to run it up on us.

It's weird cause they're a bad offensive team.

Not to bad for a second to last place team. Really proud of the fight we are showing, 12 games behind .500. We keep hitting grand slams and pitching less than 4 runs a game per starter, we might barely miss the playoffs, which would be good for Salvy. I bet #13 beats the catcher record by 2 hr. Ball tends to fly in September at the K.

Smorgasbord of thoughts:

1) Perez is on an insane run. When I woke up this morning I was sure the highlights/headlines were mixed up. Grand slams in back-to-back games? Wooooo!

2) It is not too early to get excited about Carlos Hernandez. His stuff is elite across all of MLB and he seems to have found the confidence to command it/throw it for strikes.

3) the minor league power surge is just … unprecedented. This system isn’t going to rank as highly in the offseason as 2011, but it is more balanced and I think the depth is similar. Witt/Pratto/Melendez lead the way, but guys like Pasquatino, Isbel, Michael Massey and more are having big years, too.

He's going to have the most walks he's ever had, which is not very much. I imagine he's being slightly more selective, swinging harder and trying to pull more since his K rate is also up.

If I was opponents I'd throw Salvy nothing but sliders down and away. He'll get himself out three out of four times. He refuses to walk.

He has been on a mighty tear since the AS Game. Good for him.

I don’t think anyone has adjusted how they pitch him. I think he’s doing a better job laying off those pitches early in counts.

Whit with a leadoff homer. Maybe some of those warning track fly balls will be homers today in an afternoon game.

Now it's Lynch time.

Whit has had a recent resurgence in power. His slugging percentage had been in decline since the beginning of July, but in his last six games, including today so far, he’s hit 4 doubles, a triple, and 2 homers.
