So my crackpot theory here is

Delta hits fast and hard and causes a lot of infection in non immune and some in vaccinated. The vaccinated or natural immune who get infected are likely ends to the chain so the spark doesn’t take off from there as the antibodies kick in and they aren’t infectious very long in the few who get sick.

It burns thru non immune fast and quick, leaving a wake of bad shit

If you look at the big outbreak in mass that the cdc used, it broke and now has gone down to nothing. Highly vaccinated area.

Here in sw mo it broke and we’re low vaxed so it’s just burning thru.

It’s also looking like when delta hits you have a higher percentage of breakthrough infections then that trends down.

Makes a lot of sense. It spread like wildfire through our population up here, but it seems to be burning out. I'm optimistic.

This is the first study of "virological kinetics," or the decline of of viral load, in breakthrough cases. So it is really important for assessing how transmissible breakthroughs are. And as suspected, it shows a real but brief contagiousness window for breakthroughs.

I'm going to start embedding the tweets you post for you, because they're always really good and people should read them.

The @NFL is making players wear colored wrist bands now based on vaccination status. Funny, I thought we all agreed on the evils of segregation back in the 60s. Here we are again- only this time it’s based on personal health choices instead of skin color.

How about no wristbands, but we tack on an extra 5 yards to any penalty made by an unvaxxed player?

Why in the world does SWMO have such a low rate? I couldn't believe it when I saw it.

An under-appreciated form of media bias is the drive for novelty. "COVID Vaccines Prevent Severe Illness and Reduce Transmission" is the exact same story we've heard for months. But that's boring, so we get a wave of stories highlighting breakthrough infections. https://t.co/88kBISkxgI

The ratio of English hospital beds occupied with Covid-19 patients to Covid-19 cases two weeks ago is at its lowest level ever again, just 0.12. Literally a tenth of its peak during the Winter outbreaks. pic.twitter.com/Q8SsEijGtt

And charting hospitalisations (& MV beds) against infections since the start of the pandemic nicely shows that number has stopped following the number of cases. pic.twitter.com/oHy24b91zJ

And the same with the death rate. pic.twitter.com/iOUR1Ue41S

Damn. Sucks seeing the brain damage set in so quick on some of these young veterans. Thanks for at least sacrificing those brain cells for a Super Bowl Sherman!
