Okay , I deserve that. :-)

If we somehow rematches against Kansas fully healthy, I wouldn’t expect a blowout win, but I don’t see why the result would change in terms of who’d win.
Bahhh we'd exact revenge for sure.

Wait, so the tournament losses are devastating and soul crushing AND we get over it in 24 hours?

I haven't felt particularly bad about a tourney loss since Michigan in 2013. The others since then we either weren't very good (like with the losses to Stanford, WSU, Auburn, and USC) or were good and just got beat by a better team (like Villanova twice and Oregon).

I remember when I told people last year we matched up terribly with USC and they were going to beat us. People called me a bunch of names and that I was a pussy. It's hard for fans to accept the truth.

Kansas and Nova were pretty even in 2016. That was a really close game between two really good teams.

Nova’s free throw shooting in that game was incredible and proved to be the difference. I wasn’t too bothered by the outcome though, because it was just a really good matchup.

Regarding the Stanford loss, I’ll always wonder what could’ve been had Embiid stayed healthy. He had become the worst matchup in college basketball. I’m still surprised he ever managed to overcome his injury issues.

The loss that bothers me the most of the Self era was VCU. The early tourney losses don’t stick with me, because we still would’ve had to win more games to accomplish anything meaningful.

That was an Elite 8 against a team that shouldn’t have even made the tournament. The Final Four was so weak that year too. That was one of the only times I really remember the tournament completely opening up for us, but we couldn’t take advantage.

Oregon > KU in 17

I think Oregon was just an awkward matchup. Their guards were huge and Mason/Graham weren’t. Jordan Bell punked Lucas all game. Really wish Doke hadn’t gotten hurt.

Arguable. Both teams had 5 NBA players on it (Brooks, Boucher, Bell, Dorsey, and Pritchard versus Graham, Jackson, Svi, Mason, Udoka), so the talent level was quite comparable.

Not even close, both in metrics and overall talent. 2010 team has an argument for being the most talented Self team in his entire era.

I went to the Oregon and Nova games... the Oregon one ticked me off a bit, but given Nova was up like 19-4 by the first whistle and hit a million threes, you get over it pretty quickly. Not that the Oregon game was particularly close, but Kansas at least had a couple of chances to make a run, which can make it even more frustrating when they continue to suck.
