Wrestlers and jujitsu fighters have techniques that are so practiced that they come from muscle memory. In several plays of this nature in football, it’s clear that after grasping the torso the defender purposefully deploys a technique in which the lower body is swung into and dropped across the legs of the ball carrier. It is an effective leverage technique that quickly brings a player to the ground, by trapping the ball carriers lower leg between the tacklers body weight and the ground.
Three facts:
1) the technique is intentional in most cases
2) the technique is effective in bringing the ball carrier down
3) the technique has a higher potential for injury than a normal tackle in which the lower body is not dropped across the lower legs.
Just because 1) and 3) are true does not mean that there was intent to injure, because 2) is also true. 2) could be the motivation. [Reply]

Exactly. Deal is its gonna bother him and stop him from being full Mahomes. And could get worse as the game progresses. The Chiefs and Mahomes are going to have to change the way they play. [Reply]
I heard that Mahomes suggested if he is still in a lot of pain on Thursday, that they amputate his foot so he can pivot better on the stump. Tough nut that Patrick. [Reply]

Maybe they can remove his entire leg and give him a blade like Oscar Pistorius had [Reply]
