Payton could always sit out two years and the Saints won’t get anything.
Again, it seems like you’re not understanding…. It’s not up to Payton what the Saints receive from his trade. Loomis isn’t gonna care about depleting any team of draft picks. Just like Caroll didn’t care that he absolutely fleeced Dungver. Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a game going on between NFL GMs about who can fleece Paid a Ton more. Gonna be hard to top what Pete did to you.

Caldwell is 68 years old. I doubt he wants any part of a dumpster fire like that. No premium picks, horrible quarterback, rough division, total rebuild with a GM that can’t hit in a pick outside the top 5.

He coordinated one of the best defenses of all-time.
He turned around the Cowboys' D (gave up 5th most points in 2020, they've given up the 6th and 7th fewest points in the two years he has been there)

The only negative is he's a defensive coach and Denver already has a great scheme and would benefit from having an offensive wizard like Sean Payton.
You should check out his defense in the SB the year he took his team there. It was the legendary 28-3 game and one of the few times I will give Brady props for winning a SB.

Sure sounds like it's going to be Payton...

This thread reminds me of the Herm era chiefs fans always looking for a glimmer of hope.

Because Cowherd of all people says it? He is not a very reliable source to stake a claim on.

If your choice is between being an HC in a bad situation or remaining unemployed, I think you take the job.

I can’t imagine Payton coaching a Broncos team that might take 3-4 years to turnaround.

Money talks.

He will go there if the Wal-Marts offer him a Gruden type contract or more. I just think Denver will be disappointed when he isn’t the savior they think he will be. They will be better and might even good enough to help Denver eventually break the ongoing KC win streak. He won’t be good enough to win a SB and eventually Wal Mart will get tired of it and can him while paying a huge buyout. They will be good enough to not get an elite QB in the draft, but not good enough with Wilson to be any serious threat to the big dogs in the AFC.

He literally had dinner with Sean Payton the same day Payton interviewed with Denver. It wouldn't surprise me if a few Broncos people were there too.

Cowherd is a blow hard who will say anything. He is a very unreliable source who is right every rare moment.

Who cares? Unless you get fleeced...again. He won't be a Bronco.

No HC has ever won a SB with 2 teams. Payton barely won his only one

Before Peyton Manning, no QB had led two different teams to a Super Bowl win. A few years later Brady did it.

Holmgren and Parcells came close. Vermeil may have had a chance if he had a defense. McCarthy and Doug Pederson have a chance to do it this year.

Payton got very unlucky. He might've had one or two more if not for the Minneapolis Miracle and the Robey-Coleman play.
