For all things Royals in 2022. #3 minor league system according to Baseball America. The Bobby Witt era should begin this year. Will Salvy still be the homerun king? How does the glut of infield players work out? Will the young pitchers take the next step?

Remember too that the next year, DM reached for Mozzicato at 7 instead of his projected 40ish. That is the only rebuttal needed to not excuse him for the Lacy disaster
Nobody knows when injuries happen.

Yeah the shoulder and back are fairly important to pitching lol. So he's a broke dick.

Jesus Lacy is only allowing a .138 avg. He's allowed 28 ER, but only 12 hits. He has however walked 36 batters and has hit 11 batters in only 25 2/3 innings. Impressive!

He only pitched in 14 games and 52 innings. That's not enough of a sample size to tell anything.

Witt Jr.'s first season in the minors he played 37 games and had only 1 HR and a .671 OPS.

So we're you saying he sucked?

Of course they are.

The kid faced FAR more pressure as the Friday night starter for a powerful baseball school in the best baseball conference in the country. And he was electric for them. I just can't see it being purely mental.

He probably started compensating for soreness, lost his release, then started pressing. NOW it's mental, but it was almost certainly injuries that were the catalyst.

Now it's gonna be a long, slow, arduous period of essentially re-making him. And who knows if it'll ever come back together? But when Ankiel imploded it eventually surfaced that he was having some elbow issues that were creeping in and he was trying to adjust to them when he flamed out. Then his mental health issues took over and he imploded. I've not heard anything about Lacy having similar demons so it may be a less onerous task to get him back on track.
