2023 – A new beginning for the Royals. Matt Quatraro era begins. A year to see which of our young players will make up the core going forward. Can Bobby Witt Jr become a superstar SS or will go to the hot corner? Will Brady Singer take the next step forward? Will Salvy be Salvy? Will Big Vin or Pratto take first base? Will they find a position for MJ? Who else emerges from the youth movement? Not to mention the development of the new downtown stadium.

Mozzicato has a couple underlying tools that project success - his IVB on both the FB/CB are legit, and the CB velo is good relative to the FB.
While at the A-ball levels, he should develop a fourth pitch, likely a SL, and most importantly, focus on developing overall velocity. https://t.co/pHdDfvLlbN

Well that is a rose colored view right there! [Reply]

No, its probably just a speck of fly crap. [Reply]
Royals entertained offers for Salvador Perez. Not completely dead, but very unlikely he is moved. Marlins had interest so did non-contending White Sox, owing to relationship with mgr Pedro Grifol and team control thru 2025 with 2026 club option.

I am not surprised they are reluctant. Is he not literally every fan's favorite royal? Is he not the George Brett of two otherwise lost decades? And do they not want a new stadium and taxpayer subsidies that count on the votes of local fans? [Reply]

No one is going to games, no one gives a rats ass who is the favorite when the team is pure liquid dog ass. [Reply]
It would be a bit of a gut punch because I wanted Salvy to spend his whole career with the Royals, but from a baseball standpoint you have to take a realistic viewpoint. My only concern is that the track record suggests we wouldn't exactly get an exciting package back for him. [Reply]

If you could legit take his money and go sign a solid starting pitcher that would improve the team. [Reply]

The Royals wouldn't even trade Merrifield when he was the hottest name in the sport with a few years of control on a dog shit team. You think they are going to trade Perez? He's the only thing selling tickets. [Reply]
