Mondesi played last night at Omaha and hit a monster HR.

He also apparently made it through the game without injury. So that’s cool.

even though not likely on a losing team. Salvy should be in the MVP conversation. Ohtani will win it and deservedly so. But Salvy is having a year no other catcher has had in a long time, if ever.

I think it's clear that the year off and covid shortened year last year have left Salvy healthier and fresher later into the season.

I really think plan A for 2022 should be to platoon Salvy and MJ at catcher and DH. Extend Salvy's career, keep his bat in the line-up every day while also developing MJ and getting him lots of at-bats. Seems to be a win/win.

That's good. I mean he has more injuries this year than home runs, so maybe its trending that stat in the right direction now.

We have made the following roster moves:

LHP Richard Lovelady placed on 10-day injured list with left UCL sprain.

RHP Tyler Zuber recalled from Omaha (AAA).

Don't read it then or ignore me. You're the one that seems to be a little bitch. Did I make you big mad or something?

MONARCHS SIGN FORMER ROYALS WORLD SERIES CHAMP

August 27, 2021 Kansas City, Kan. – One day after clinching the South division, the Monarchs added a player more than familiar with winning in the post season. OF Paulo Orlando, who was a key member of the 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals, signed with the Monarchs on Friday.

Orlando, 35, played for the Royals for four seasons. In 278 games, Orlando slashed .263/.289/.384 with 14 home runs, 81 RBIs, 18 stolen bases, and 10 triples. He last played for El Águila de Veracruz in the Mexican League in 2021. This season in Mexico Orlando hit .311 in two stops with Dos Laredos and Veracruz with seven homers and 38 RBI.

“He went down to Mexico and had a good season down there,” manager Joe Calfapietra said. “[He] contacted us a few days ago expressing that he was finished and possibly would have some interest in coming back. We’ve had a relationship for the full year, so it was kind of easy.”

Orlando’s best season in the “bigs” came in 2016 when he appeared in a career-high 128 games for the Royals. He hit .302 with 43 RBIs and 24 doubles. The native of São Paulo, Brazil became the third Brazilian to play in the Major Leagues when he made his debut in 2015, and he is the first Brazilian-born player to win a World Series in 2015.

In other moves, the Monarchs traded IF Nick Franklin to the Sioux City Explorers and IF Will Kengor to the Milwaukee Milkmen. The club was not finished there as Kansas City re-signed LHP Eric Stout. Stout was immediately placed on the inactive list — taking Franklin’s spot.

The Monarchs open a three-game series vs. Houston on Friday night. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m. The game can be heard on the Monarchs Broadcast Network with the pregame beginning at 6:30. The game will also stream on aabaseball.tv.
