The prequels are horrible. The only redeeming thing about them is that they led to Filoni's Clone Warswhich led to the mandoverse.
He understands what makes the original trilogy special: it's an homage to classic movie serials.
George got too caught up in turning it into "film", with politics and more science related explanation for space magic and social commentary. He got away from popcorn action space fantasy westerns. The prequels are just as flawed in that way as the sequels.
Kathleen Kennedy tried to double down on that with last year's High Republic cross media metaverse, and it's flopped. To the point that Disney is rumored to soon start scrapping the whole thing
Hopefully it leads to more influence for Filoni and Favreau and a continued Renaissance of the things that made star wars what it was in the beginning.
Word is that Disney+ is unveiling a bunch of new Filoni stuff at celebration. [Reply]
And after that finale, I think you can say this was another massive success for a Star Wars TV series. Doubt they'll be able to keep up this level of quality as they make more spinoffs and have to stretch themselves further, but it's impressive what this experiment of a few years ago has turned into. Those two are obvious because then you don't have a big climatic battle. Luke delivering Grogu himself would have likely involved him in the fight which would have then ended pretty quickly as he kicks everyone's ass with out breaking a sweat. And they needed Boba to at least have a hand in the victory seeing as how the show is titled after him.
Using the ship accomplishes Boba being the hero but, it also puts a pretty quick end the big fight they wanted.
Not saying you are wrong but, those were moves way too obvious to be used.
Another example would be what I was referencing in regards to the mid-credit scene: in the previous episode they had to have the deputy get antsy and try and make a play on Cad Bane causing a distraction or, obviously, Marshal Raylan Vanth/Cobb Givens would have dropped the blue guy in the dusty street. :-) And they needed Boba to be the one to do that.
But it's all good, they aren't killing off Cobb, so I'm chill now. He's too good a character (and I'm too big of a T.O. fan) to discard of him after only two episodes.

I’m sure there is some kind of Jedi code to not get involved in two parties warring over a city. Also they could have had Luke drop off Grogu before the shooting started.
I understand your point about the plot. And you’re right. Both were necessary for Boba to be the hero. The whole Boba plot line was a missed opportunity.

It's still the early stages of the New Republic so Luke has plenty on his plate, and we don't know how much if any contact he actually has with his home planet. Just stabbing in the dark but, I'd guess that he needed to stay and continue to supervise the building of the school. I mean, it's that or he was being pouty over Grogu's decision, and I have hard time seeing them go that direction.
I'm sure we'll get some kind of explanation in the next week or so.
I'll just say that in order for Luke's appearances going forward to retain significant meaning and in order for the other characters' actions to retain meaning (as he is powerful enough to deal with the Pikes or just about any other serious threat to Boba Fett/the Mandalorian with a few waves of his hand), he shouldn't be a permanent, ongoing part of these shows. Appearances every once in a while where appropriate are fine, but you risk oversaturating beyond that.
