Homers get the headlines, but the defense is just as impressive. So smooth.

Yeah, he's the total package. Whether he's playing 3B or SS out of the gate next season, the Royals are set to have a really elite IF defense.

Witt/Mondesi/Lopez on the left side, Merrifield/Lopez at 2B... plus defenders or better at each spot.

It may just be me, but IMHO Lopez will be your SS next year. Keep Whit at 2nd base, use Witt at 3rd and let Mondi learn to play CF, he has the speed to cover ground. Benny will still be in LF, Dozier & Olivares in RF with Santana and Pratto controlling 1st.
