As for actual anticipation, all my energy is still focused on Hereditary.
I have a love/hate relationship with horror movies. I have little tolerance for movies that merely startle me, or try to scare me with the improbable or fantastical.
But I'm always on the lookout for movies that can instill a real lasting sense of dread.
That's why I've watched The Exorcist dozens of times, but barely paid anything like Freddy Kreuger or Jason any mind at all.
One of those was The Witch, which although it could be plodding in parts really built a world of isolation where it injected just enough of the supernatural to make you shudder. And this comes from the same interests. [Reply]
My son and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Tons of action, fantastic CGI and the acting and story are good enough to not get in the way of giant CGI robots vs Monsters. [Reply]

it's like it was made before 'avatar' and they realized, yeah, we should wait fifteen years before we release this. the people today are too smart to enjoy this one. :-)
