I'd rather get the 60-70% and keep my vacation time. But I know that doesn't work for everyone.

Now that you mention it, I don't recall if our insurance company requires a person to use all of their PTO before going on STD. It's possible that they do, and that kind of makes sense.

Well, I do get a pretty sizable AD&D policy for nothing and I had to pay for that at a previous job. I don't know if that's common practice or not.

I hope my company doesn't do this. We also have FTO vs PTO. Basically our time off has no cap as long as management approves the time off.

I think the logic is <= 5 days falls under the PTO umbrella, anything over is when STD kicks in.

40 hours is the cap for us though.

Stop it with the Dungeons and Dragons talk, nerd! This is serious business.

Yeah this sounds reasonable. Obviously you don't ever run into a situation where someone loses a month of PTO and then has to beg for more under this system.

Got my booster day before yesterday (sore arm for 24 hours but nothing else). I'm one of those who firmly believe that nobody should be forced to get a shot if they don't want one, no matter what their reasons are. But I also think it's the smart thing to do and that companies (NOT government) have a right to put whatever rules they want on terms of employment. :-)

How many people that are getting boosters are changing up and taking a different vaccine?

I got Pfizer originally, and that's what I'm choosing to boost with.

I may be mistaken but I think the original J&J folks may be the ones who benefit most from boosting with an MRNA vaccine.
