Nzoner's Game Room>Wentz traded to the Colts
staylor26 10:48 AM 02-18-2021

Philadelphia has agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first, league sources tell @mortreport and me.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 18, 2021

The conditional second-rounder in 2022 becomes a first-rounder if Wentz plays 75 percent of the snaps or 70 percent and the team makes the playoffs. https://t.co/quAYwcz7bd

JFC you guys act like Patrick Mahomes talents grow on trees :-)

Let’s go through this again for the umpteenth time:zero first rd QB’s from 2009-2016 are still on their teams that drafted them.

Please for the love of Christ tell the class what QB that they could get “is going to win you a Super Bowl.”

I’m going to go with not the guy who has 58 fumbles, has an injury history and couldn’t handle competition.

I’m guessing they already know.

Oh shit. Hadn’t considered that. That tints the deal in a different light.

If this trade works out (ie Wentz stays healthy) Indy is the 2nd best team in the AFC. Buffalo will fall off.

What's the Colts weakness if Wentz returns to2017/2018 form? They will steamroll that division.

Agreed on Hurts. I really doubt for the eagles this is putting the future on hurts. The opposite. I'd bet this is the start of a much needed roster purge. And that probably starts with key cast members like kelce and ertz. The eagles can spend the next few years evaluating hurts and if he is anything short of franchise level, the eagles will probably lose a lot which is great for draft position (and a good way to find a true franchise QB). If hurts exceeds expectations then that's just serendipity.

If the eagles build around hurts that's just stupid. If this is the start of a rebuild, then having hurts isnt such a bad thing.

It would be hilarious if Luck came out of retirement and went to the Eagles :-)

It's the same thing in the Watson thread. All these dudes talking about how he sucks. Apparently they all think that if other teams don't have Mahomes they should pack it up and shut the team down till he retires.

Yeah, the Colts are in that bears phase a year or 2 ago where theyve got a good supporting cast to win now but they win too many games to get a qb they truly need. They need somebody to win now. Wentz is a huge risk for that but he's probably better than any alternative they have now. Worst case he totally tanks and the Colts rebuild in a few years. They probably have to do that even without Wentz.

Yup

They’d rather stick with Brissett or a dying armed Rivers than have any shot at all with a QB while they try to look for one in the draft.

If that’s how you feel, then what’s your plan if you’re Ballard? Who is your starter opening day?

Keep in mind Lawrence and Wilson are pretty much etched in stone to go 1st and 2nd in the draft. You aren’t getting them.

Find your guy and go get him.

Whether that’s Lance or Fields or Jones.

Oh and maybe don’t sign a brokedick Rivers who wasn’t going to win you shit anyways.

I think this trade is a massive swing for them and it can pay off huge. If he hasn't gotten injured back in 17, Carson Wentz is the league MVP.

They have a fantastic line and running game along with a very good defense. If Reich can't fix Carson, then no one can.

I hope it works out. I look forward to some payback. We still owe them a few playoff losses. I want them good again so we can collect on those. Wentz is more likable then Josh Allen and Lamar too-at least to me.

I wasn’t aware of this but Wentz has a higher career passer rating than Andrew Luck and 2 seasons where his passer rating was better than Lucks career best.

That's why the 2023 pick is "conditional" - if dude is still broke trash locker room cancer (and he is), the Colts are just going to eat it on his contract.

The Bears and the Eagles are the big winners here.

And Wentz, who is still getting paid.

If the NFL gives him 27 PI calls...maybe he can be SB champion too...
