Nzoner's Game Room>Shared fences and eminent domain
007 07:29 PM 05-18-2018
I have some problematic neighbors that allow a their weed and bush overgrowth to constantly take over the shared fence in my back yard. I trim this shit back multiple times per year and am getting rather sick of it invading my yard. What's really aggravating is that five feet of my yard is on their side of the fence. Unfortunately the fence has been there since before we moved in. It's a battle I'm tired of fighting.

I'm curious what others in similar situations have done. I've tried talking to them before but none of them give a shit since the growth from their weeds is on my side. Not their problem and all that BS.

Picture attached for reference. I don't think antifreeze and aids infected needles will help here.

You are allowed, actually required, to maintain the tree that grows over your property. If it falls and damages your house, it's your problem.

What was annoying was that not only did the tree shed branches and leaves like crazy but it rained acorns on our roof for many months during season. We also had NO TRESS in our backyard yet had bags upon bags of leaves before winter to rake as kids. Drove me crazy.

Now I get to deal with their tree leaves.

Woman in my town just bought a home from my realtor friend. Here is the “Welcome to the Neighborhood” letter she just received. #designerFence pic.twitter.com/k1kbVZZwmU

Nothing wrong with this---depending on who your neighbor is

Yeah I would plant so much “yard art” along their fence a football couldn’t touch it. Starting with a couple rusted out pieces of shit

Must be a crappy fence to have such doubt that it will survive a football strike.

I couldn’t live and be civil beside an asshole like that. Fuck you The Smiths

Last time I lived in a community I couldn’t tell you how many time the President of the HOA walked through crosshairs.

I would order a survey and encroachments have the surveyor pay particular attention to adjoining fences. If it over the line demand to have it moved with a lawyers letter like they did. Then put a taller privacy fence along that assholes line.

It’s not. You can look it up on Google Earth. There’s no way a football would do any damage to that type of fence. Neighbor is just being a crotchety old douche.

I would bet that PVC fencing not anodised aluminum or steel it can be fragile especially if the kids climb it to retrieve ball.

Challenge accepted.

Trailer is illegal since it is on grass and not rock. If I wanted to be a real jerk, I think the city would fry him. I told him the reason I made a big deal of everything is because I have to look at it. He does not. He often has a larger trailer in the driveway to carry his drag race Camaro that he revs at 9pm at night in the winter.

For the record-I had help today. A 20 year old kid that likes landscaping. He he was big. I am exhausted.
The shed seems fine. I mean you had enough space to plant a tree in between.

The racecar would aggravate me, but I guess he does it to keep the battery good. Maybe ask if he could do at 6pm?

You can cut the limbs on your side also. Only caveat is if the tree is dying write a lot to the neighbor he needs to take care of it and certify it. If the tree does come down from neglect and damages your house then he has to pay.

Is this sarcasm? It's so hard to tell on the internet. Why couldn't this lady just come talk to her neighbors about that? Seems a little extreme to me.
