Let's all have a moment of silence for a loss of good taste. A young woman was murdered, we are acting like it's fucking new years that the douchebag offed himself and got ate by gators. It's no surprise that the Laundries knew exactly where he was and tossed a dry bag to mark the spot. Or someone else did and they knew where it was and told the laundries and they found it. Laundries going down for obstruction. [Reply]

She ****ing lived there with them.
What if he had killed another person while in hiding to keep his location secret? You just don't know what he would do. His parents took a real chance lying to the feds but they will most likely be free and just not liked.

Every parent on this forum knows they would sacrifice themselves to save their kid. That's just the way it is.
This appears to be a crime of passion. He's not a serial killer thats going to kill someone else.
If its a case of someone else getting killed, totally different. The brother turning in the Unabomber for example. Then those additional innocent deaths on your hands too.
But, if the FBI has clear evidence that the parents covered up something, why have they not been arrested? [Reply]
Brian Laundrie had a history of violence. It wasn't just a crime of passion. You had two dysfunctional people (Brian and Gabby) who should never have been together. Gabby, by her own admission, had insecurity and disabling anxiety issues. She could not stand being alone. Brian, who pretty much had his own ADHD issues, needed downtime from stimulus. Mix together and we have this outcome where everyone lost.
Considering he is dead and they never had charges against him for anything other than credit card fraud his parent wont be charged with anything. If he was found alive, different story. [Reply]

Impeding and obstructing an investigation is still a crime. It has been for a real long time and has ample precedent of being upheld. [Reply]

I hope it was him. But this is playing out like a sitcom crime show.
This is why we are fucked. Conspiracies born out of the inability, whether it be intentional or not, to be able to comprehend what happened. And in a more plausible manner than the conspiracy itself.
Either way, it's a mental issue that should be looked into more than it is. [Reply]

I only heard that they found “partial remains” and that his identity was confirmed by dental records. Yes - its a huge reach but didnt know if it might be possible to plant something that has enough of his dna to fake his death. I know , I know, it sounds like a bad movie, you are right… [Reply]

For the charged crime. He was NEVER facing charges of murder. He was facing charges of credit card fraud. If the parents obstructed the investigation of credit card theft than yes.
The parents cannot be held up on anything other than aiding someone who had committed credit card fraud.
They never charged him with murder and therefore doesnt transfer to the parents for aiding a murderer which is seems people want to tack on. They simply cant, because it was never charged. [Reply]
