Posting this as a repository for random training camp content. Glad to see Andy moving around today without the cane.

I think some fans are spoiled. It was not long ago, that our team looked like shit most of camp and into the preseason games.

"Cassel throws his 1st TD of camp- Day 10!!"

Now we look so focused and most everyone is shining. This team is loaded with talent.

Kelce, Gray and Fortson would be a great TE group.
The Chiefs had utter garbage behind Kelce last year and they still ran 4 TEs on the roster all season.

It would not remotely surprise me if Bell and Fortson both made the roster.

A lot of oxygen has been taken up talking about how the Chiefs boosted the OL but waaaaaay under the radar has been Veach's work padding the TE room.

I wouldnt call signing a journey man and drafting a tight end in the 5th round padding but sure

Well keep in mind: you need to know what you're building.

They're building *TE depth*. Not overhauling an entire position. A lot of diligence and research went in to building this unit, I think.

They added a journeyman who fits the offense, and let's respect what Gray seems to be on the verge of doing this season.

The staff gets credit as well for developing Fortson. He just needs a fit on the field; perhaps he's found that.

What happened to that thing that showed every camp related tweet in the OP? We had it for years for the training camp mega thread.

I like Grays ability to be a pass catching tight end hes on the smaller side we will see if that matters or not moving forward. Belldozer is the prototypical back up tight end in the Reid era wont surprise me at all if he starts the season as the #2, I like the physical look of Fortson but this is year 3 for him now right? And hes changing positions. Sure maybe he catches on but this seems more like the last stop on the train.

Gray and Powell (or whomever ends up being the X this year) has a chance to put up relatively huge numbers and really impressive YAC.

IMHO, the talking noggins are overestimating our AFC competition (Skidmarks, Dolts, Jacksons, etc.) ... as they are wont to do.

Assuming reasonable health among our elite players and the development of guys like Trey, Gray, and Gay, we reach the Super Bowl for the 3rd straight year.

On the one hand I love what we're reading about Gray.

But on the other hand we definitely need to see what happens when the pads come on.

When guys can touch him, his size/length is going to be a problem for him. He's only 6'3" 240 lbs with a 31 5/8" wingspan (10th percentile) where most good NFL TEs are at least 6'5 or 6'6 and 250+. Guys like Noah Fant and Evan Engram are closer to his size but they bring elite athleticism to the table with wingspans in the 68th percentile while Gray does not. His college YPR (8.6) was in the 4th percentile too so he also wasn't explosive at all against college defenders. I am not seeing how this kid can be a mismatch TE at the next level. Seems like he will be lucky to be a Jack Doyle type of "reliable catch-and-fall-down guy."
I'm not saying this guy is right but it does make me pause

A catch and fall down guy is all we need sometimes. Emphasis on catch.

The @NFL is making players wear colored wrist bands now based on vaccination status. Funny, I thought we all agreed on the evils of segregation back in the 60s. Here we are again- only this time it’s based on personal health choices instead of skin color.
