I'd rather not miss the tournament at all and make a half dozen final fours and win three titles (Kansas).

Kansas and Arizona are the two teams that carry the choker banner the highest when it comes to tournament time.

Most recently, two years ago in a 34 pt loss to USC, as a #3 seed.

"Another way of looking at 2020-21: Self and Kansas had yet another disappointing finish where they underplayed their seed. A No. 3 seed clears the pathway to a Sweet 16, and instead it's a round of 32 exit. That's a frustrating March Madness trend KU fans know all too well. Self is in the Hall of Fame for guiding this program to the 2008 national title and 15 of the last 17 regular-season Big 12 titles. And yet, in the NCAA Tournament, Kansas has a slew of disappointing exits under Self."

You don't have to worry, you've missed the tournament twice and haven't won shit in 10 years.

Who do you think Kansas will choke to this year?

It's no more claiming anything than Nebraska "claiming" the title it won in football in 1997.

And that isn't even counting the COVID year when KU finished on top of all the polls. The programs haven't been on the same level for literal decades now.
By what metric are you saying they're not on the same level?

They both have two titles during that time period. Kansas has 6 Final Fours vs Kentucky's 4 during that time.

Kentucky has 42 tournament wins over that time while Kansas has 40.

Yet Kansas is on a different level? GTFO. :-)

Kentucky, Kansas, and UNC historically are on their own in terms of continued dominance. Duke's been that same caliber with K and we'll see what happens after. UCLA is a blue blood but I wouldn't say their success has been as consistent as Kentucky/Kansas.

Kansas and Kentucky are in a league of their own because they've won throughout their history with multiple coaches. As has UNC but to a lesser extent. Duke had some success before K but no title.

You're seriously claiming the COVID year? :-)

The silliness of trying to claim something where there is no H2H championship game aside, so, saying you've won 2 of the last 3 in basketball isn't claiming?

When you miss the tournament three times and are outside the top 25 four other times (being seeded 8-11 on four occasions), no, you're not anywhere near the same level as Kansas this millennium. Only one program (Duke) can remotely compare to KU's consistent success level since 2000 and it certainly isn't Kentucky.

Are you suggesting Nebraska didn't win the football national title in 1997 after finishing #1 in the Coaches Poll?

It's a horrible argument. People want to bitch about the bubble in the NHL and NBA but at least they played their championship series to claim a title.

Arguing that Kansas won the 2020 title is as hilarious as UCF claiming the natty in football in 2017.
