If you can't play football, there's no chance in hell you can play basketball.

"You can never avoid lockdowns" I think is the insinuation. I'd gladly take a lockdown for a week if it means no restrictions whatsoever otherwise, but that's me.

If their plan is to keep doing it this way until...well whenever...more power to them.

That sucks, but what really stinks was all of the training that he would have done in pursuit of those goals. Now, we're simply hanging on for football and really praying that basketball is here in winter. AAU tournaments have kept the kids playing, but cancelling the school season would be tough.
I just paid $400 for my kid to play soccer this fall and I have to watch from 400 yards away through a fence because parents are not allowed in the wide open, outside soccer complex.

But if I wanna go run down the street setting shit on fire and busting out windows it's all good.

This hasn't happened anywhere to my knowledge.

I'm guessing it is "See! NZ locked down and they got four cases three months later!! See, there's no point in lockdowns!!"

Which, of course, is completely illogical.

Prior to this, NZ had almost nothing. No masks. No distancing. Large gatherings were allowed.

You can also party with 200,000 people in Sturgis. But you're right, it's all good.

That seems to be their plan, yes. That was our plan, too, of course.

I think we can all agree that NZ is a very unique situation and isn't really comparable to anything here, no?

They depend on travel and tourism economically so this will be tough for them I'd think.

They are doing it the right way IMHO. I am reminded of this guy's article about the hammer and the dance.

We did a half assed mitigation strategy.

So they locked down, then they unlocked down, then they locked down again.

Not very well recently, since many people pretty much stopped following mitigation efforts.
