Nzoner's Game Room>The best 25 KC Chiefs players to never win a Super Bowl
LongSufferingToady 03:30 PM 01-19-2022
Interesting article, but too large to paste here.

https://arrowheadaddict.com/2021/09/...in-super-bowl/

I'd be interested in who you think are the best Chiefs' players to not end up in the Super Bowl.

My pick is Henry Marshall. Saw him play at Arrowhead. He was amazing.

1. RG Will Shields: (1993-2006)
If you’re keeping count, Will Shields is the fourth offensive lineman from Dick Vermeil’s infamous stout offensive line in the 2000s who has made this list.

Author is an idiot. How was that an infamous line? Does he know what that word means?

Infamous stout offensive line? Huh?

Warren Moon comes to mind, though he didn't have much of a Chiefs career.

Eric Berry and Justin Houston could have gone to a Super Bowl (and likely won it) if their shitty defense would have stopped Brady/Faketriots in that infamous AFC Championship Game.

I could see a great argument for either DT, Shields or Gonzalez to be the #1 spot. Those three are more 1a, 1b, and 1c in my opinion.

No Priest Holmes, Joe Delaney or James Hasty. Henry Marshall doesn't belong anywhere near this list. I'd put Carlos Carson or Stephone Paige ahead of him (and I'm a Mizzou guy).

Trent Green is missing too.

Tony G, DT, and Shields are no-brainers. Those guys are Hall of Famers without winning a Super Bowl, which is very hard to do.

But outside of Dawson and Mahomes, Trent Green owns a pretty sizable portion of the Chiefs record books.

If you can make a case for a guy like Holmes, you can make a case for Green too.

I think putting Alex Smith on the list is okay if you put Green on there too - similar players in terms of results.

I can't see putting guys like Bowe or Tony Richardson on there though.

EDIT: I guess they counted Green's sitting on the bench while Kurt Warner won a Super Bowl as reason to exclude him.

Priest won w/ Baltimore. Green w/ St. Louis
