He did a great job turning around 49ers, but that was a unique situation in terms of underperforming talent, being one of the first to adopt college spread and bringing physical play and toughness to a team that had not been well coached.
His act was tolerable to the 49ers players then who needed a drink in the desert. I do not know if his act would play well just anywhere. IDK, seems like his brother has a better ability to work with players and front office and the press. [Reply]
Harbaugh is one of 2 coaches who have a better winning percentage than Bill Bellichick (Madden was the other). I don't know why he hasn't done as well as Michigan. Maybe he can't recruit as well.
Under his contract with Michigan, he cannot interview with another team without seeking their permission. Otherwise, they can fire him for cause. So far, Harbaugh has not asked for permission. It's also interesting that most of the rumors about Harbaugh to LV are coming from outside the Raiders organization. Mark Davis made no secret of his intent to get Gruden but thus far he's been kind of quiet about seeking any celebrity coaches. I'm not saying that it won't happen but at this point, it seems rather unlikely. [Reply]
