1. *trade up* Walter Nolan DT Ole Miss-a true ass kicker. I think Veach is gonna see this guy as a real blue chipped and go get him. Chiefs do a pick swap trade sending 24 and 66 and a 7th to the Vikings for 31 and 97.
2. Jordan Burch DE Oregon-he’s my favorite DE after the first wave. Very productive. Big, long DE who is a better pass rusher than the guys his size in this tier.
3. Dont’e Thornton Jr WR Tennessee-reminds me a lot of Chris Conley. Elite speed and acceleration. Will really help the offense as a change of pace WR as a rookie. Veach said he regrets missing on DK Metcalf. Here’s a guy that looks similar to him in some ways.
4. *Trade* Damien Martinez RB Miami-I like him and think he’s gonna be a nice role player. Very clear the Chiefs want a 3 down back bc Pacheco and Kareem will likely both be gone in 2026. Chiefs trade back a few spots to the the early 4th rd to pick up a 5th
5. Bryce Cabeldue OL KU-big kid that has quick feet. Played both tackle spots but could easily play G in the NFL. Good developmental prospect. [Reply]
Not a rip by any means BUT, At 24 you could still possibly have these guys available:
S Nick Emmanwori
OT Kevin Banks Jr.
DT Derrick Harmon
EDGE Mykel Williams
DT Kenneth Grant
OT Josh Simmons
EDGE Shemar Stewart
EDGE Nic Scourton
WR Luther Burden III
OT Josh Conerly Jr.
I have my opinion on Walter Nolen, so it probably stops this in its tracks for me. He's the best DT in this draft, followed by Harmon and Graham. I know I'm not alone in this thought process, and we'll have to see how NFL teams feel. The only issue is his character is apparently not "clean." That doesn't make me think he's falling this deep into the draft, though. I think he's a top-15 player. I just don't see it as realistic to hope we can get him. And then, if you can, can he play 1T? I don't think he holds up exceptionally well there, at least not out the gate. I think Harmon could. I don't think Graham could. That's that on that...
I just don't know what you guys see in Thornton that makes you all giddy. I just don't see anything I'd pin more than a 7th rounder on. His type usually ends up undrafted. He reminds me a bit of Matt Landers from Arkansas a couple of years ago, but I think Landers was quicker.
