Jimmy G. (if it ends up happening) wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the Broncos, if it happened. Yes, he has a very 'Alex Smith' vibe to him (and, of course, he comes from the 49er's). But he did game manage the 49er's into 2 NFC Title Games and a Super Bowl. Granted, the Donks don't have the equivalent of the 49er's run game, the offensive mind of Shanahan, or the 49er's defense at their peak (Super Bowl year), but he still managed to take them (or at least not prevent them) from reaching some modicum of success.

Denver could probably get him for similar to what KC gave up to get Alex Smith. And while he's probably not taking them to the Super Bowl, he could at least restore some stability to that position for them and maybe even lead them to a playoff berth or two. And he would still be light years better than anything they've had since Manning called it quits (well, pre-2015 Manning anyway).

So there's that . . . . . .

If the Broncos miss out on Rodgers and Russ this year, Wentz would be a decent 1 year rental until Rodgers comes to us free of charge in 2023.

I thought Paton was thinking two years ahead last year and made all of his moves last year with the knowledge that he’d be getting Rodgers this year.

Are you admitting that Paton isn’t special and is just making moves on a year by year basis coupled with long term salary cap planning like all GMs do?

So like Bridgewater but with better team and coaching staff.

Flip the Eagles a mid/late pick for him and move on.

At the end of all this, here is what will happen.

Teddy is gone, he's a FA after the 1 year rental stint.
Lock is an UFA after the 2022 season, this is his final year on the rookie deal.

I can see them going into this camp and all these new young offensive minds thinking they can fix him. Lock is looking at his 3rd HC & OC in 5 seasons, that's stellar and surely can be attributable to some of the reason why he has sucked.

They'll roll into camp with Lock, someone like Minshew if they can get him and then a rookie.

Hopefully, these guys look at options like Cousins and Wentz and say no thanks. I'm curious to see what direction they want to take at QB, but I will not be shocked if they go into camp with it being Lock's to lose.

another wasted season coming up in Dungver

PSA: Aaron Rodgers will play for the Packers this season.

Russell Wilson will play for the Seahawks.

That is all.

Cousins sounds like the best option at this point and esp if they draft a QB.

An improved defense with Cousins has a punchers chance.

I will celebrate like when they gave Donald Stephenson big money if they trade for Cousins or Jimmy G.

The best move is to draft a QB and either play him right away or play a stopgap vet for a year MAX.

Everything else they do benefits their competitors.
