Hopefully the true number is lower.

Meanwhile I'll keep an eye on South Korea for more accurate numbers.

I can’t even imagine the disruption to daily life LAUSD school closings would cause in this city, not to mention the interruption to sports, school plays, Spring Break and the summer schedule.

It would be such a nightmare...

I'm waiting to see what happens with the considerable homeless population up here. On average they are not well suited to fending off an infection (poor health, drug use, filthy conditions), but they spend all of their time outside, not crammed indoors where the virus can spread more easily.

If the idea is to stamp it out than any number of cases is an emergency.
Would you rather wait for thousands of cases and then try and quarantine everyone who has been exposed.

:-)

It was like 80 here the other day.

Just in case anyone else was waiting for it to "get warmer"

I saw something that said around 700 patients on the Diamond Princess tested positive. All four deaths were over 70.

So the fatality rate really looks like it hammers the elderly but if you are younger and otherwise healthy maybe not too big of deal.

Humidity plays the biggest role. If you want to know how the virus does in warmer climates with higher humidity, keep an eye on the tropics.

I'm about to buy a ticket to Dublin and I am just hoping these fears continue to drive flight prices down
