This isn’t going to be over in a few weeks. Nobody seems to get that.

A study awaiting peer review from scientists at Princeton University, the University of California-Los Angeles and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) posted online Wednesday indicated that the COVID-19 virus could remain viable in the air "up to 3 hours post aerosolization," while remaining alive on plastic and other surfaces for up to three days.

"Our results indicate that aerosol and fomite transmission of HCoV-19 is plausible, as the virus can remain viable in aerosols for 42 multiple hours and on surfaces up to days," reads the study's abstract.

I read this the a day or two ago and meant to post it. Not sure how long the regular old flu stays viable but this seems like a long time.

Airborne transmission of influenza is up in the air, it seems:

Airborne transmission (via small particles suspended in the air for extended periods of time) also is thought to be possible, although data are limited

We haven't even started testing beyond the handful of people tested. 330 million people and how many have been tested? 10-20 thousand? We should have already had millions tested. How can we know how far and wide its spread without testing?

NBA season suspended.

Coachella delayed.

SXSW canceled.

This one chart shows why so many large group gatherings are being canceled right now.

Yes :-) The draft isn't until April 23 so they could easily postpone FA until a couple weeks before that.

None of us know what will happen just trying to stay positive. Typical flu season runs through March so if we limit exposure and try to contain this we can be back to normal in a month or so hopefully.
