Y'all want to ride with Smith for another year or give Morris a chance? Because there's probably several good to decent prospects who likely will be there when the Chiefs pick.

Top 10 trade not happening at all. IF it did, it would be for a WR or a DE. Never a OT.

I will bet you 1k we can escrow the money to whatever poster you want on here if they verify their identity on social media, that if we trade up it’s not for a OT. I’ll actually give you 10-1 1k max payout that if a trade up happens it’s WR vs any other position. Thoughts?
I read you just fine. Veach would never trade into the top 10 for a WR in any fictional realm you want to devise, especially a draft loaded with talent at the position. A DE wasn't part of the discussion, don't move the goalposts.

We aren't betting on anything, especially what you have here. I said specifically that he could make a small move for a WR. I'm talking about moving into the top 10, which is specifically what you said. We're not at all talking about moving up 5 spots for a WR over an OT.

The longer we go without signing an LT, the more obvious it seems our first round pick will be spent on an LT. And an even better bet that it won’t be at #32.

Fair enough!

Anyone available for trade?

Yeah - I think Morgan is my guy in the 1st round.

Watched him a bit more and I just don't see a way that guy doesn't have a 10 year career starting somewhere along the OL and make a couple Pro Bowls along the way.

He just has an awfully high floor and I think there's enough skill/athleticism there that the ceiling is absolutely a good starting LT for a team that utilizes deep pass sets.

So yeah - I want to see Morgan slip to us in the 1st. That's my guy.

I like Morgan too, but the question is, will the arm length be a dealbreaker for Andy/Veach?

One of the first truly big deals Reid/Dorsey ever gave out was to Mitchell Schwartz.

Morgans arms are, what, a half inch shorter than Mitch's? If that? And while it's not terribly critical, Morgans hands are quite a bit bigger than Mitch's were. Height/weight is virtually identical. And Morgan has better baseline athleticism than Mitch.

I mean if the arms are a deal breaker, I guess Suamataia is the guy. I don't think he's quite as safe a pick but I'd be fine with that as well.

But I think it's time to invest a little more heavily at OT in this draft and the depth of the WR corps means we'll have some nice options at the back of the 2nd. As such, it just makes WAY too much sense to go OT in the 1st. I think a draft where both Morgan AND Suamataia are off the board by 32 would require...hmmmm.....8 offensive tackles before 32?

Alt, Fashanu, Fuaga, Latham, Fautanu, Mims, Guyton, Morgan, Suamataia. So 9.

With the possibility of 4 QBs going in the round and 5 pretty likely WRs (Big 3, Thomas and Mitchell or Franklin)....boy, I just don't think that's likely.

I think Morgan or Suamataia are there for us and I can live with either guy.

If we were to move up around #15....

- Is there a sure-fire guy, who is a fit for us, that is worth doing that?
- What's the likelihood of him being there?

Morgan has the athleticism they want in the T spot. I just don't see how they wouldn't take him if he were there.

I think the difference with Schwartz was that he was a known commodity and had already proven in the NFL, so it was probably easier for them to ignore him not meeting their arm length threshold.

As far as I know, Andy has never draft an OT that doesn't meet them.

I don't see a big trade up regardless of who's there. We're going to need bodies, sooner than later. We need them picks.

I’m on the “Morgan at 32” train.

Not that interested in a late 2nd onwards OT to be honest. I'd love a starter in the 1st. Otherwise, go BPA and roll with Smith or someone and hope Morris actually does develop to the point they have trust in building around him as the focal point. Especially being as cheap as he is.

Yeah, LT "developmental guys" don't ever work out.

Or rarely do.

Just take one early.

I'm still stuck on WR in the 1st barring a trade up or Morgan being an outlier for Veach/Andy.

I do think there's a small chance that Guyton falls to 32 though.
