For all things Royals in 2022. #3 minor league system according to Baseball America. The Bobby Witt era should begin this year. Will Salvy still be the homerun king? How does the glut of infield players work out? Will the young pitchers take the next step?

I know this is a very gblowfish thing to say, but since ohearn got a pinch hit today, I’m looking forward to seeing his extension soon and him in the everyday lineup

If he is only pinch hitting, I’d be ok with that.

You should drive up from Dallas & check out downtown KC.

Much improved.

I strongly dislike O'Hearm, but he's had some big hits for this team this year.

I don't disagree with "improved". But let's be honest...that's a pretty low bar given the history of KC's downtown. I definitely have been in "new" downtown KC many times. It's fine. It's a small time version of what other cities have done better for about 20 years. Again...KC has a rep for not maintaining anything due to bad policies. Build a shiny thing...watch it turn into a pitt within 10 years. There's a huge risk in building a stadium downtown. And again...people are moving away from city center downtowns at rates unseen since the suburbs became a thing in the 20th Century.

KC does not have a strong history of smart decisions on urban planning.

KC’s downtown and the River Market area are bleeding population?

Do you have details on that? I know that’s a nationwide trend but don’t think it has hit KC in the same way.

The Royals’ plans include a business park and a community-based development, from what I have heard. They’re not just plopping a stadium down and relying on the city to keep the area around it up. They’re handling some of that themselves.

@anne__rogers: Breaking: The #Royals have parted ways with hitting coach Terry Bradshaw. Alec Zumwalt is joining the big league staff and will "oversee all hitting efforts," the club says.

Asst. hitting coach Koeni DeRenne remains with the club, and Mike Tosar will be in uniform as well.

FYI, this move had been in the works for awhile. The issue is that the organization isn’t sure how to best utilize Zumwalt’s tremendous skills. Some think he is better off in the front office. Others recognize how gifted he is at the grass-roots level. https://t.co/1iIq1oxyqd
