Do they need to play? Does it really help them gel and get ready to play real games?
I'm guessing the answer is yes since I can't remember any time that a team withheld all of their starters from every preseason game. Sometimes older vets that are still really good don't play but that's all I've noticed. You'd think that one team would refuse to play any important starters for the entire preseason if they didn't think they needed it. [Reply]

The Rams don't play their starters (at least last year) at all [Reply]
I'm kind of vacillating on this one. Traditionally, the starters play the 1st half and maybe 1 series in the 2nd. There were timing issues with PMII and his receivers against the Steelers and those need to be worked out. You can say that can be worked out in practice, but no one is blitzing and the speed of the game isn't the same. On the other hand, I hear the concerns about injuries. Any hope of SB victories or even winning our division go out the window if #15 goes down. Bottom line is that injuries are going to happen. Are we going to pull the starters in a regular season game? Are we going to pull them if we're going against a 2-14 team? Are we going to pull them when we're up by 21?
I guess at this point I want to see the O click and if it takes 2-3 series, groovy, if not, a half. [Reply]
