The Chiefs are working on a restructured deal for DE Frank Clark, per sources. Sides are uncertain whether they'll be able to get it done, but they're at least trying to find a way to keep Clark in the fold.

Theres no hurry on Clark since he will be a 6/1 cut. May as well see what happens in FA and draft first. Then decide. [Reply]

Just cut your fucking losses and move on.
If he's back (and that's still a decent sized IF) it won't be at $20M in 2022. You can bet on that one. [Reply]

Giving him the OPTION of taking a paycut demonstrates they don’t recognize the rot on this roster. That they didn’t learn shit from Watkins.
It’s a REALLY bad omen even if he’s willing to come back for a veterans minimum salary.

Have you played with what the math looks like if you do max restructures year after year, and then just do a new deal at age 32? You end up with a big bonus proration in that age 32 season (that starts to drop thereafter), but it's workable for sure, and I think that's the plan for him.
Right. His deal will be extended before the bill ever really becomes 'due'
The price will be paid after he's retired lol [Reply]
The Chiefs have ALL the leverage here. Do you really think he's going to cave and take a massive pay cut?
If he comes back, it's going to be at a significantly reduced price tag. And that's IF he comes back. Read the tweets - they have to agree and so far, they're not close. [Reply]

He needs to go. He’s part of the problem.
Well nothing is done yet. The league season doesn't even start for another 48 hours.
People need to just chill and relax a bit. [Reply]
