There is no "good" answer here, unfortunately. The Chiefs gave him a contract and now they're paying for it.
Don't give a fuck about the money. Just get out of the way already if you're not going to play. You can sign up a scarecrow at this point and it may at least block a pass or impede the opposing QBs vision once in 2 years.

They carried Jordan Lucas ALL SEASON and he barely saw the field. Berry wasn't standing in his way, the coaching staff was.
