Yes we do. Read back through this thread and other threads were certain people where shaming the old and fat who died from covid.

While I agree, I've personally been hit by this Covid thing pretty hard in terms of loss of life. My wife and I have lost family members to it, had other family members still struggling to recover etc.

When I see people downplay the severity and such, it's a similar feeling.

I'll be curious how businesses go about the booster shots. Will they be mandated too? Gotta get one every 8 months will be the requirement?

I think people are just grasping for anything that might help to convince people. Stories can be compelling ways of getting a point across. Do I think that many will be convinced? No. But I'm not seeing any approach that does, either.

It may not always be the best approach but it works in alot of instances.

Who hasn't had a parent, coach, friend, family member make them feel like an idiot for things that they have done? It is called life lessons.

White House is about to hold a briefing regarding boosters. Hopefully they bring data.

To O.City's point, Deblasio has done exactly that. Goes around trying to make people feel stupid and instead of sympathizing with people and talking to them like they're equals, he speaks as a dictator and tells people if you don't do this, then you can't do that. His approach is likely a larger turn off to people than it would be if he sat in press conferences and attempted to explain the whys and hows of what he's wanting people to do. Instead he insults everyones intelligence like when he was eating a cheeseburger as a bribe to get the vaccine.

I dont know how to tell people either. The feeling I get is akin to trying to tell something to children. You know for a fact that getting vaccinated is right, but you get resistance and defiance because of where the source of right comes from. And that is terribly frustrating.

Yes it will be the requirement. Just like the flu shot, where it is required.

Booster shots - all vaccines are very effective against severe disease at this time. Concern that decline of vaccine efficacy could impact protection against severe disease. Pending FDA and CDC approval, booster shots will begin September 20th, 2021
