More details on Joe Thuney's 5-year, $80M deal with the Chiefs:
Signing bonus: $17M
Base salaries: $990K, $13.9M, $15M, $15.5M, $15.5M
Workout bonuses totaling $2.11M

That structure keeps Thuney's 2021 cap number at just $4.5M.

KC still has room to work with in free agency.

Jets have not been asleep behind the wheel today.

My understanding is that the Jets and Patriots were the other two teams that made a push and had strong interest in Pro Bowl guard Joe Thuney.

But the Chiefs blitzed Thuney with an offer that he could not refuse fast.

Arguably the 2nd best OG in the NFL behind Nelson with Thuney being more athletic but less powerful. I couldn't be more thrilled.

Certainly brings into question signing Williams, which would be quite the feat at this point, but if they do that opens up a ton in the draft to just go get playmakers.
