Nzoner's Game Room>****OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread****
KC_Connection 10:11 AM 08-28-2020
Have been banned from the other thread by an apparently sensitive snowflake (ironically after dozens of pages of political discussion from others) so I'll stick my thoughts on the NBA Playoffs here from now on. We needed a new thread anyway.

The west was more competitive. But then the warriors started rolling and only thing people started caring about was knocking the warriors out. Then the Lakers won in a year where everyone was tuned out.

Almost every series this year was intriguing. And both conferences actually had good teams. Let alone the awesomeness of watching a new fan base get pumped up. Like the Suns in 4 guy. The same kind of cool shit we saw when the Chiefs and blues won.
I do like that finally the conferences are somewhat balanced after the East was the JV league forever.

spurs teams with robinson/duncan had some great series

this was fun basketball and brought me back mostly because i live in zona now but doesnt hold a candle to nba 25-35 years ago
Those were genuine personal rivalries and had great stories that took years to play out. Today's basketball became just a jumbled mess of arms races. The Bucks had that type of story that draws you in as does Chris Paul..It was more than just a pickup game on a court.

Cavs/Warriors 2016 is the most overrated series in sports history.

Six blowouts. One amazing game 7. Do you enjoy watching a series with six largely non-competitive games? Most people don't.

That series has become revisionist history because of the media's blowing Lebron. Also, the fact they came back 3-1 down against a team with 73 wins.

Great story. Not a great series. Too many boring games.

It also contained perhaps the most memorable and most significant play in NBA Finals history:

I agree with the other dude. The games were boring and I thought the Heat/Spurs one was better so I picked it as the best one that Lebron won.I picked Dirk going full Giannis against a super team as one of the top individual performances I've seen in a finals given he basically had very little help. It had a nice little story as well with Dirk getting his ring and staying with one franchise. Total David/Goliath series.

The most impressive was the Spurs dismantling of the Super Heat in 13 I think..
.but those games were all such blow outs it was boring.

The Lakers/Blazers 2000 series was amazing. Surprised more ppl aren't mentioning it.... the amount of talent Blazers had was unreal. Took Shaq/Kobe combo to beat them in 7.. just barely at that..

I guess most are talking finals...Kings/Lakers was great as well even if the Kings got cheated.

Just because a game is a blowout doesn't necessarily mean it is boring.

I'm not a LeBron fan but man did he go off that series. It was great to see. The Thunder-Warriors series before that was pretty damn good too.

The Milwaukee Bucks could sell $1 billion in jerseys after NBA championship win

Demand for Bucks jerseys increased 2,530% in the hours after the win over the Phoenix Suns...

Unless there are brawls, I believe a blowout is pretty damn boring. Especially when the entire series is full of them.

Westbrook possibly to LA. Might be tricky with only 1 ball for him and Lebron to share.

Are the Lakers aware that Russell Westbrook is washed and sucks now?
