Draft is too deep at wr to overspend on any of the mid tier guys available

If we sign either Mooney or Hollywood I don't want to hear a word out of you.

I wouldn’t describe it as desperation. It’s moderate interest and dedication to taking multiple routes to improvement.

Draft a guy, sure. Sign a WR or 2 in FA who fits at a rate that is reasonable.

What put the Chiefs in a bad spot last year was multiple guys failing. Valdes-Scantling stepped back. Moore didn’t progress. Toney did not perform. If even one of those guys just meets basic expectations the situation is very different.

I don't know how many times I've said that if they can't get a difference maker in FA, to just attack through the draft and/or trade.

It's fucking painful to be around these mongos, thus the time off.

Would enjoy continuing this with DJ or Dunc or anyone else that actually wants to try to make an argument other than Hollywood was a 146 target decoy in a run-first offense.

Exactly. You have the proven commodity in Rice. Throw numbers at it again this year.

Having a stacked draft could help lower the prices on some of these wanna be alphas like Hollywood. He could end up in our price range, stranger things have happened.

Andy gets WRs open so even an average guy can work. Just catch the fucking ball. 40 drops is a lot. Half that many and we would have been the 1 again.

Correct.

Good NFL teams can take advantage of FA and the draft.

It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Right now, we have no $$$$ being spent on WR's on this roster.

It would be irresponsible to not look at players in FA who can help especially because we have zero vet WR's that are good currently on the roster.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or not. But neither do you. You seem to think you know, but really none of us know what Mooney really is, and I'd rather not pay MVS $$$ to him just to find out.

look, I don't have anything in particular against Mooney; he just doesn't move the needle for me, either statistically or on the little tape I've seen. Plus, he's just been pretty inconsistent. He looks like a reclamation project, a la josh Gordon/Kelvin Benjamin/insert another JAG paycheck collector, and personally, I'm completely over that route.

I would rather spend a little more (up to, but not necessarily, say $20 million/yr) and get an actual proven WR than sign yet another giant-ass ? mark at a position of critical need, that's all.

You like Mooney, and I don't. We can just agree to disagree on this guy, and move the eff on.

I wouldn’t say he was a decoy. I’d say he was a primary target in an offense with bad passing concepts and a shitty passing QB.

It’s why he pushed for a trade. He didn’t like how Greg Roman was using him and he got tired of Lamar throwing balls 2 feet behind him over the middle and six feet over his head and out of bounds down the field.

Marquise Brown market has heated up in the last 45 minutes.

The #Patriots & #Chiefs have been previously linked to Hollywood.

Yet you're asking for guys that have a limited track record as is, and haven't shown what little they allegedly have in years.

Again, if we wanna dabble in the $1-3M range and cross our fingers, fine.

But spending $8-12M on guys like Mooney and Brown is falling into the same trap we did with MVS and hope that they turn out.

We can hope at a much cheaper price point.
