So there's an article on NFL network saying that Orlando Brown is expected to sign for 6 years $145 mil.
That comes to $24.16 mil/yr and makes him the highest paid offensive lineman in football. It also would give him the 19th highest salary per year in the NFL
How would you feel if that is the contract he ended up signing?
I'm fine with it. He is a top 5 LT and he's only 26 next season. A young great LT is a guy you can't let leave. [Reply]
I want a healthy QB that doesn't have to worry about great speed rushers because he has some great bookend tackles. OBJ struggles against top tier DEs pure and simple. It also limits your playbook when you have to help with chipping. Because we are playing now consistently for the last 5yrs for the SB, OBJ IS NOT the answer IMHO. [Reply]

Great. Who is your replacement for BOTH our tackles next season who will give you what you want? I'm guessing Bert would LOVE to know. [Reply]

Nah, Bert doesn't need to know because he already has a plan.:-) [Reply]

Ideally? I’d think you nab Andre Dillard and Jawaan Taylor in free agency and draft one in the first 3 rounds.
That leaves KC way better at RT and with a couple of options at LT and probably for a similar price tag to Brown by himself. [Reply]
I swear some of you completely forget that this is a team sport and sometimes a guy looks like he lost a rep because of someone else's mistake.
Mahomes dropped back to far on that rep and so it makes it easier on the pass rusher. When Mahomes tried to finally work back into the pocket he had pressure from the right side because he held onto the ball too long and it allowed OBJs guy to run all the way around and come from the other side. Mahomes couldn't evade that pressure because Thuney was being pushed towards him from the other side.
OBJ had a pretty good pass blocking rep on that play and one fuck up is all it takes to make it look bad. [Reply]
