Dante84 06:29 PM 01-08-2022
Need the boys to get right.

Bye would help a ton.

As of Friday, 1/14: Clyde out, everyone else should be active, although Darrel is listed as "Questionable."

I'm hoping like hell Derrick Gore gets a chance to be the featured back.

You guys seeing that they're trying to get ol' Juju in for this game?

Hmm. I don’t like Wylie being banged up with both Niang and Remmers on IR.

Who slots in at RT if he goes down?

Move Brown to RT and Thuney to LT, Allegretti as LG?

Bring Long in cold for his first game action in years? Or PTW?

No way we slide Smith to RT.

Kyle Long is the emergency RT.

Just have to live with it.

The fact he's still on his rookie contract next season with a relatively favorable cap # is the only reason to keep him.
Imagine if we drafted Tee Higgins who went the next pick. Higgins would have been a better Sammy Watkins

If so, we’ll have Allegretti eligible as a 6th OL or Bell in to block on every play.

Play calls would have to go adjust as well.

The issue w/ McKinnon has always been injuries and durability. Welp - the post-season is here and he's on a 1-year deal. Empty the tank.

I'd start him. If he gets hurt, he gets hurt. But he's a veteran RB w/ some juice in his legs who knows how to block and can catch out of the backfield. He's demonstrated vision and versatility. There's no reason why he can't get a significant snap share going forward.

But weirdly, the only guy I think I'd give 70% percent of the reps to is Jerrick McKinnon.
Good lookin' out, Andy.

McKinnon is your hot hand - ride him through the post-season. He's the best combination of traits we have on this roster to run the offense that Reid and crew want to run.

If they'd commit more heavily to an inside zone system, I'd say give CEH and Gore more run - but they clearly don't want to do that. So if they're going to continue w/ the outside zone plays and frequent screens, your guy is McKinnon.

And then go find a young guy in the draft with the same abilities and plug him in next season.

I think Jerome Ford is probably the guy there. Seems like he may be there for us at the back of the 3rd.

But man I'd still like to see more youth/speed added to the defense and that might also be a nice spot for a safety or rotational edge rusher. Even a solid run-stuffing DT (though you can often find that kind of player in the 4th).

Oh yeah - I was talking about that at the game last night.

For the first time this year, the Chiefs found an outside running game.

That is so fucking dangerous with an OL that can just maul you up the middle.

Andy got wrinkles on wrinkles coming.

Let's get some of those minority hire picks and we can do both.

You aren't worried about Ford's pass blocking? I know you brought it up in the draft thread when I first asked about him.

You were laughably wrong about McKinnon. :-)

You're the worst judge of talent on the forum.
