Nzoner's Game Room>This team can win the Super Bowl
rabblerouser 06:55 PM 11-22-2021
The offense doesn't have to be explosive like 2019 - with the defense playing like this, they just have to be efficient. Clean up the turnovers. Take the easy yards. Win the Super Bowl.

I think we put it on tape in the Raiders game.

Now we need to sustain it, and our schedule is a little easier after the bye.

The floor for this team for next 3 seasons is the AFCCG.

Chiefs will probably need to win the next AFCCG on the road. Part of the experience we’ll get to enjoy.

Of course they can win. The defense has shown they have talent and ability to carry their side and we already know the offense can.

Go into the playoffs reasonably healthy and firing on all cylinders...

Still a long way to go. There have been improvements from 3-5 weeks ago. You would rather find a way to peak at the very end of season than much earlier. Hopefully they will be able to get things figured out over the next 4-5 weeks.

We are set to be a dynasty team of course we can win the Super Bowl this year but not every year is a given.

You have to fight for your right to party. The looks at the sidelines of players dancing is they are ready for that fight because they want to party.

They just need to hope that no major injuries happen like everyone else and finally stop shooting themselves in the foot.

This team is sitting at 9-2 and first in the AFC if they don’t make the mind numbing stupid mistakes they did in the Ravens and Chargers games.

This team still hasn’t clearly figured it all out. Plenty of very reasonable holes to poke at in all of their recent wins on both sides of the ball. But they’ve figured something out.

19-9 seems more of a positive thing to me than winning 40-38 does.

We might get it together and drop 40 on some folks, but giving up 30 plus every week just doesn't make me very confident.

I think the 19-9 is a bit misleading. The knew Spags had the clamps on the Dallas offense and when Lamb was out in the 2nd half it made it way easier. Elliott was hurting from his ankle too.

We went into cruise control that 2nd half.

To fix the offense we first must get out of our own way. Penalties and turnovers wrecked several drives against the Cowboys. That's the only reason the Cowboys hung around. A great play call means nothing when we're going backwards with flags.

In the TEN game KC scored just once in 8 scoring possessions.

Just 4 times out of 10 in the NYG game.

3 times vs. GB out of 10.

And finally in this last game, just 4 times out of 10.

And most of those scores were FGs, not TDs.

They need to score more TDs more consistently, period.

The offense isn't fixed yet, but they are trending in the right direction. And I believe that they'll figure it out. But they ain't there yet.
I don't give a shit. That wind conditions were nasty and it's a small sample size anyway. Big part of the reason Dallas struggled throwing against our rock solid tight coverage.

That's just awful. Even last year with all the plodding performances they scored at about a 58% rate. that's a 22% drop-off.

And no team has ever won a SB scoring under 40%.

The defense is fixed, or fixed enough to win a SB. But the offense has to fix their shit asap.
Why are you basing everything on one game? Earlier in the year, they were scoring on practically every drive that didn't end with a TO. The truth is somewhere in between.

:-)
What? I never said Hardman was a solid receiver. Once I posted that I thought Hardman could become one, like two years ago.

I said Hardman has no issues catching deep passes. He's got plenty of grabs more than 30 yards downfield.

I said based on his catching mechanics that I thought Hardman probably had a focus issue.

And I was one of the first here to criticize Hardman's footwork, so I'm certainly not a big fan of Mecole.

And where did I say that I thought Reid and Mahomes couldn't fix this shit? go back and read virtually any post I've written criticizing any Chiefs player or coach. You'll find that I almost invariably finish those criticisms saying, "but I believe that Ried and Pat or Spags or whoever can turn this around given enough time."

I say it often enough that several CPers have been going around saying I'm some kind of mindless homer.

Can't be both, so which is it?

All I said above was state some facts. I didn't try to lean either way. The Chiefs currently are one of the least efficient scoring teams in the NFL with 7 weeks to go. We know they can score at a rate virtually impossible in today's NFL, so all that really has to happen is Pat and Reid need to get their shit together and score to at least the NFL average, of not 15 points higher than that. And fix the TD/FG ratio while they're at it.

If they don't, the Chiefs won't get to the Super Bowl. simple.

I don't think that's too much to ask. Hell, I thought most of us were thinking the same thing.

The wind conditions were poor in every Chiefs game for the last 37 days? I didn't know that.

We’re able to enjoy this team like we did in 2018 just excited to go along for the ride knowing a Super Bowl is a real possibility.

However this season ends, I’m enjoying the experience more than I did last year which felt more like going through with the motions as a perpetual favorite constantly tip-toeing on eggshells.
That was a well thought out post, I really enjoyed.

Now piss off with your lollipops and unicorn farts. This is the NFL you limy bastard!

Just kidding, I agree. As I have said in the spagg’s thread. In the past 7-8 years we have been to back to back World Series and won one. Back to back Super Bowls and won one. Of course I expect this Chiefs team to perform at a high level, BUT, we are living a KC sports fan dream in this small stretch. Let’s not lose perspective gentleman.
