2022 version:

Tom Brady is retiring from football after 22 extraordinary seasons, multiple sources tell @JeffDarlington and me.

EDIT: Timeline below.
1. Darlington & Schefter report Brady is retiring.
2. TB12, Tom’s brand/company, tweet (then later delete) about his retirement.
3. Toms teammates tweet about his retirement.
4. Tom’s agent, dad, Arians, and Licht all say Tom hasn’t decided yet.
5. Ian Rappaport says many sources confirm Tom plans to retire but the pushback is due to timing.
6. Tom announces retirement again in 2023.

And sign his paperwork.

This isn't the same situation as before where he verbally retired but never followed through. He's actually retired in the eyes of the NFL. Coming back wouldn't be nearly as easy as it was before.

Not that the Miami owner gives a shit. I'm sure Bob Kraft was doing some under the table stuff for Brady as well.

We do know that. The Pats were giving Brady's side hustle wellness business he started with his conman trainer basically free rent near foxbourgh.

This shit is hilarious. Fuck Tom Brady and all, but his tweets are often entertaining.

Anyone who thinks I have time to come back to the NFL has never adopted a 2 month old kitten for their daughter. https://t.co/Qzf2H4vr1j

Honestly at this point if Brady came back in the NFC he'd be a top 5 QB probably. Maybe higher than that.

I'd like to see him go to Miami. Tom pairing up with Tyreek would fire up our guys.

Where would he go in the NFC, though?

Everyone over there is either already committed to a QB or not in a position to win now even with Brady. The only two I'd think would even be worth it for him to try are the Rams or Commanders.

No, it really wouldn't fire anyone on the Chiefs up.

What would the league do to stop it?

Does Tampa own his rights if he comes back?

49ers would be his best option.

49ers are busy playing moneyball where they load up everywhere but QB to see if that'll work.

Idk if it's true but Shanahan has publicly stated that they don't want him.

They've got Purdy and Lance so I believe it.
