In short, if you're boosted, go on with your life. The risk of death is all but zero.

Sorting for hospitalizations and deaths, a pretty clear picture emerges.

I'm sure there's a "deep state" conspiracy that helps to explain it, but outside of that, the data are clear.

Interesting data for sure.
I'd still like to know the deaths that were due to underlying comorbidities which had positive COVID tests vs. the deaths due to COVID with no underlying comorbidities.
If the data is going to be sliced and diced, go even deeper.

The death data in the dashboard are deaths deemed to have been CAUSED by covid-19. Here's their methodology.

      • The number comes from death certificates where COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death.

    • The epidemiological death data reflects people who died with COVID-19, but COVID-19 may not have been the cause of death listed on the death certificate. It comes from two sources:
      • From health care providers and laboratories that report cases to the state using a national case definition and the case died within 30 days of their positive COVID-19 test.
      • From state-reviewed death certificates where COVID-19 is listed as the cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death. These death certificates may not yet have been coded by the CDC.

Talked to an old friend today. His wifes grandmother tested positive for covid last week. She had a fever for a day or 2 and has since almost completely recovered.....she is 104 years old.

My wife and I have been over our second round of COVID for a couple weeks. My wife now has a headache every day. She used to only get them once per month or so.

Good deal man. It's scary when they're older and I'd say she definitely qualifies as "older".

That's really good to hear, man. The outcome at that age is usually much more grim. I'm happy your friends didn't lose their grandmother.

@AP: The average daily number of COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are continuing to fall in the U.S., an indicator that the omicron variant’s hold is weakening across the country. http://apne.ws/EvcBgZA

Covid rolled through my home starting about 2mos. ago. Wife and kids all had mild respiratory symptoms. The most annoying of which was a lingering cough. Me, emergency appendectomy was my prize. No other symptoms.
