A database error occurred when I posted the thread, so I went back and reposted it and the database error was gone but it turned out that the thread had actually posted and now it was existing twice and since I thought it would distract from the thread content if people saw it twice and felt compelled to point out that it was a Q instead of reading it, I decided that it would be best to delete one of the thread, which is the thread you're seeing here that now contains some random pictures of woolly mammoths.
1. Why am I not surprised that CP has a thread about Wooly Mammoths? Started to post about some things and figured I should search first.
2. What I wanted to initially post is that about a week ago, construction workers found the petrified remains of a baby wooly mammoth. The best preserved example that they have found:
3. There was a post above about attempts to re-introduce the woolly mammoth. I wonder if the newly-found, preserved baby woolly mammoth find will help in any way, perhaps by providing additional sources of DNA.
4. I love the state where I live. I would have a hard time living elsewhere. I think that my state's 'it' factor would go way, way up if we also had woolly mammoths roaming around again. Maybe we can get sabre tooth tigers or woolly rhinos, too. [Reply]
I think all of the Jurassic Park warnings are bogus. If we brought back mammoths and dinosaurs the world would be much more interesting. Let's do it. [Reply]
I read a while ago that they found one that was instantly frozen many many many years ago that the plant matter it had consumed was still fresh when they found it today in this era, fascinating. [Reply]

I think it would have been cool, as a modern human, to encounter Cro-magnon, Neanderthal, Denisovans and other human-like animals on an adventure. 50,000 years ago we all existed together.
Modern human: Hey? What's up?
Primative human-type: Uggg.
Modern human: Cool.
Modern human to his friend: Do you see a problem there? [Reply]
