We all have varying opinions about the impact of this, the numbers, etc. We will all never agree with each other. But we can all keep it civil.

Thanks!

Agreed. I think you can do the same calculations but with different criteria for counting. Did they get it, was it serious, were they hospitalized, were they in ICU, did they die? Each one can be calculated the same way, but with different comparative counts.

If my thinking is correct, if the number of placebo participants and the number of vaccinated participants who developed COVID-19 were equal, the efficacy would be 0% Go from there, math-wise.

Yep. Assuming the groups are the same size.

At this point with what we know you pretty much have to be moron to argue against the benefits of the vaccine in regards to your health , community health, economy but people will cherry pick what they want I guess .

Greene County also has asked for an area hotel to be converted to a stand-alone alternate medical site to offer acute care or serve as a step-down unit for Covid-19 patients. That request has been submitted to federal emergency management officials, Parson's office said.

Delta kicked us in the teeth up here as well in the spring, we just went to phase 3 and cases are going up a bit locally a 2 weeks in .

74% one dose
64% fully Vaxxed but we haven’t had a lot of natural infection, we locked down early.
150k pop in district 650 cases ,8 deaths.

Of course they aren't. Their job requires them to always look at the worst case scenario.

Very anecdotal and means nothing but I've known more perk people that have gotten covid in the last month than all of last year

My hospital is getting absolutely wrecked yet again. Every hospital in the area is trying to divert patients, but there is nowhere to divert to. My ICUs are full, all elective surgeries are canceled, and the ER is a boarding house for covids on high flow O2 and bipap. There isn’t any room in the hospital to put them.

From an ICU doctor who works in Western WA. It isn't just MO.

When asked if his patients were unvaxxed:

Had to take my child in for croup to children’s mercy urgent care, our nurse talked about how bad it has been for respiratory issues lately. They test all the children for Covid and none have hit positive so far so they are truly respiratory viruses running rampant.

They are making a comeback after being non existent last winter.
